I havent' had this shredder very long but I already like it better than the 2 previous ones I've owned...and broken. The first thing you notice about it is that it's very compact and narrow. And I thought "that bin is going to fill up really fast" but actually, it doesn't. The difference between this shredder and my two previous is that this one cross cuts. This means it cuts horizontally and vertically so you're left with small paper squares instead of long spaghetti-like strands. This prevents the paper from backing up in the bin which is what would normally jam the thing, ultimately breaking it and driving me crazy! It's more expensive but worth the lack of headache! This shredder is OK for small jobs, no more than three sheets at a time and it's not as noisy as others I've owned. If you need to shred multiple sheets and lots of them, expect to spend at least $100.00. -- It's for small jobs
